Filipino-Native American singer-songwriter TEHYA has kicked off the start of Native American Heritage Month by releasing ‘trap door’. It’s an instantly addictive, memorable track that places bouncy acoustic guitar chords above a groovy accompaniment, before letting TEHYA’s acrobatic voice guide us through hook after hook. She explains that the track “takes on the process of accepting the demonization and defamation of my character by a person whose perspective of me I held in high regard.
